City Council Meeting Recap: The City Council met on Monday, June 9th. Some of the highlights included:
The City Council recognized Gordon Granroth, who recently stepped down from the Library Board after 18 years of service.
The City Council approved bids for several capital projects, including a replacement detective vehicle, water and sewer main replacement near the Middle School, replacement fence for Will’s Playground at Mary Park, and the replacement of a John Deere gator and a lawn mower used by the Public Works Department.
Library Building Project: The concrete ramp to the underground parking garage was poured. Landscaping work is underway around the perimeter of the townhome building. Inside the library, wall framing is 75% complete and ductwork has started. Crews are are also installing metal door frames and rough-ins for plumbing and electrical wiring.
Paperjack Park Improvements: The Public Works Department is replacing another swing set and a swinging bench at Paperjack Park. Passersby will notice some site prep underway and an area closed off for safety purposes.
Edward Jones Advisors Office: If you didn’t know where the Edward Jones Advisors professional office building was being constructed, you’ll see the framing of the building is now in-progress. The office is located at 1448 Hamilton Avenue, not far from Caribou Cabin and St. Croix Automotive. Construction started in May and is expected to be completed by the end of the calendar year.
Dads & Donuts: With Father’s Day approaching, the Fire Department will be hosting a family-friendly “Dads & Donuts” event this Saturday from 9-11 am. The public is welcome to stop by the fire station to check out the fire trucks and grab a complimentary donut or coffee.
